Division of personal property, except slaves. 5 pounds, 7 shillings, 11 pence to each child; John, William and Benjamin. Taken from estate of James Garner, deceased, and given to Mary Garner on behalf of children, apoparently all minors. No mention of Elizabeth, who probably had already received her share before James Garner died.

Will of Mary Garner, transcribed in Anna Doggett, The Doggetts of Guilford County, North Carolina: Will made 17 Aug 1766. Gives bequests to children Elizabeth Brown, John Doggett, William Doggett, Benjamin Doggett, and son James Garner.

Warrants quiet title to two slaves sold by William to Rebecca for 50 pounds current money. Receipt of money acknowledged by William Doggett. Presented to court 10 Mar 1767 and proved by witnesses Samuel Eskridge, William Oldham and Anne Oldham. John Doggett and Benjamin Doggett also witnesses but did not appear in court.
